Join the Sim Center Team

The Simulation and Immersive Learning Center offers flexible opportunities for individuals interested in supporting health care education. Team members may work as standardized patients, Physical Exam Teaching Associates, Gynecological Teaching Associates or Male Urogenital Teaching Associates.

No previous medical experience is required. Selected applicants receive specialized training to portray patients, teach examination techniques and provide constructive feedback to learners.

Preferred Skills and Availability

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • No previous medical experience required
  • SP experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to learn and recall detailed case information
  • Ability to teach clearly
  • Interest in health professions education
  • Comfort with the selected teaching role
  • Strong communication and constructive-feedback skills
  • Reliable transportation and occasional overnight travel when required

This role is well suited for retired individuals, those with flexible schedules, and anyone interested in pursuing a future career in healthcare. Pay rates are discussed during the interview process.
