The mission of the Center for Community Health and Aging is to increase the capacity of individuals, institutions and communities to improve population health and aging well across the life course utilizing a community health development approach and multi-level evidenced-based solution.
Established to support people who experience violence across the lifespan, the Center of Excellence in Forensic Nursing facilitates interprofessional collaborations to offer unsurpassed research and training opportunities by providing forensic nursing education and outreach for nurses, other medical professionals, law enforcement, attorneys, social workers and advocates.
The Coastal Bend Health Education Center, based in Corpus Christi, is committed to improving the quality of health care in the Coastal Bend by advancing the knowledge and skills of health care professionals, students and the community through partnerships in education, research and technology.
The USA Center for Rural Public Health Preparedness strengthens the public health workforce readiness in predominantly rural and underserved areas through implementation of lifelong learning programs. The center also strengthens the capacity at state, regional, local and tribal levels for a rural public health emergency response.
The Rural and Community Health Institute is a health extension center offering programs that promote safe, effective health care practices. The institute serves as a bridge for health care professionals and their organizations with academic centers, policymakers and researchers to improve the quality and safety of patient care. For some small community or rural facilities that may find it difficult to produce certain programs and services on their own, the institute provides simple solutions.
The Telehealth Institute advances telehealth through pioneering service delivery, policy-relevant research and state-of-the-art technology development. As a collaborative initiative across Texas A&M Health's colleges, the institute is driven by a mission to address disparities in access to high-quality health care. It extends critical telehealth services to patients in rural Texas counties and actively shapes the future of health care by training the next generation of telehealth professionals across multiple disciplines.
