The institute serves as a bridge for health care professionals and their organizations with academic centers, policymakers and researchers to improve the quality and safety of patient care. For some small community or rural facilities that may find it difficult to produce certain programs and services on their own, the institute provides simple solutions.
The Telehealth Institute advances telehealth through pioneering service delivery, policy-relevant research and state-of-the-art technology development. As a collaborative initiative across Texas A&M Health's colleges, the institute is driven by a mission to address disparities in access to high-quality health care. It extends critical telehealth services to patients in rural Texas counties and actively shapes the future of health care by training the next generation of telehealth professionals across multiple disciplines.
