Jeff Stout
Biography
Jeff has been actively involved in healthcare simulation since early training in Emergency Medical Services (EMS), where he worked with low- to mid-fidelity task trainers. Jeff's experience spans multiple healthcare institutions, including teaching American Heart Association (AHA) BLS courses and supporting student competency and success.
In 2014, Jeff transitioned into a formal simulation technician role at the University of Michigan, serving for over six years. In this role, he operated and maintained simulation manikins and haptic trainers, supporting medical and nursing education through in-situ training with Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, and Nursing Education programs.
In 2020, Jeff joined the Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS), contributing to Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) program training and in-situ simulations at the University of South Florida locations and Tampa General Hospital.
Jeff joined the Texas A&M Simulation & Immersive Learning Center in July 2022. He has been instrumental in advancing simulation and audio/visual (AV) technology, including computer and equipment upgrades, as well as the development of innovative maker space projects. Jeff also developed a Power App integrated with SharePoint to support the Case Development Team management within the Student Planning Committee (SPC) for Disaster Day, streamlining case creation and review processes for students and faculty. Additionally, he supported the implementation of Pulsara for Disaster Day, refining educational guides and workflows to enhance simulation-based learning. Jeff is a Certified Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS).
