Biography
Andy began his career in medical simulation in 2018, serving as a Standardized Patient (SP), teaching associate (TA), and exam proctor at Baylor College of Medicine. Over the following years, he expanded his experience across Houston-area medical schools, including UT Health, Texas A&M’s EnMed campus, and the University of Houston. This work provided valuable insights into best practices, operations, and coordination across diverse campuses, along with thousands of hours of practical simulation experience.
In May 2024, he joined the Texas A&M Simulation & Immersive Learning Center as the Teaching Associate Coordinator. In this role, he was responsible for scheduling, staffing, training, and event setup for physical exams, male urogenital, and gynecological teaching associates.
Shortly thereafter, he transitioned into the role of Simulation Technology Coordinator within the Sim Center. In this position, he maintains and operates all medical simulation equipment, drawing on his background in information technology (IT) and electronic repair to ensure smooth operation, repair, and maintenance of equipment used during simulation events.
