Beginning with the 2014-2015 academic year, all processing (includes registration, billing, financial aid etc.) for HSC students will occur in the TAMU student information system known as the Howdy portal. Students will be required to have a NetID (username) to access Howdy and other resources at Texas A&M University (TAMU). Students will no longer use myHSC for registration, billing, financial aid etc. upon completion of the Summer 2014.

  • What is a NetID and Why You Need to Activate Yours?

    Your NetID is your Texas A&M username that is needed to access many Texas A&M University resources such as Texas A&M email, the Howdy Portal, and the open access computing labs on the TAMU campus.

  • What is the Howdy Portal?

    The Howdy portal will be the new student information system for HSC students starting Fall 2014. Upon the completion of Summer 2014, HSC students will no longer have access to myHSC. Students will use Howdy for web access to information, registration, financial aid, student billing and much more.

  • When can I use Howdy to access my student records for HSC?

    Howdy will be used starting with the 2014-2015 academic year. There will be a My Records - HSC tab within Howdy and you will receive messages which will direct you to use the Howdy Portal for various items. For instance, HSC students who have applied for financial aid will receive emails directing you to Howdy in March 2014 for items financial aid will need from you to process aid for the 2014-2015 academic year.

  • How do I get my NetID at Texas A&M?

    You will need your UIN and date of birth to Activate your NetID. Go to and follow the instructions.

    If you have already activated your NetID, but have forgotten it, or having trouble logging in with it, you will need to contact the Texas A&M Help Desk Central (HDC) at or by phone at 979-845-8300. You will need to have your UIN available for them to further assist you.

  • What if I have forgotten my NetID password?

    Once you have your NetID, we recommend that you activate Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR), which will allow you to remotely reset your NetID password should you forget it.   • What about my HSC email?

    For now, you will continue to access your HSC email through The university is planning to implement Google Apps for Education and information will be forwarded at a later time.

  • When and where do I register for my fall 2014 courses?

    Students will register via their Howdy portal for their Fall 2014 HSC courses. Students can find out their designated registration date and times by logging into Howdy and accessing their My Record - HSC tab.

    *Note that some students/programs (BCD, M3, & M4) require administrative permission for enrollment in their courses. These students will not register themselves in classes online and should contact their academic department if they have questions about registration.

  • Where do I pay for my fall 2014 courses?

    Students can make payment via their Howdy portal for their Fall 2014 HSC registration. There will be communications regarding Fall 2014 payment information for students at a future date.
