Research Centers
Southwest Rural Health Research Center
The SRHRC draws upon the relatively new and dynamic institutional resources of the Texas A&M Health Science Center School of Rural Public Health (SRPH), and serves as a focal point for uniting other parts of the Texas A&M System to conduct and disseminate policy-relevant research on critical rural health issues. The three areas of rural health policy and research targeted by the SRHRC are:
- Meeting the Needs of Special Rural Populations
- Minority Populations and Health Disparities
- Rural Systems Building
Ergonomics Center
The mission of the Center in Ergonomics focuses on the prevention of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). MSDs are the most frequent and costly illnesses in the workplace. Goals of the Center are three-fold: to determine the root causes of MSDs; to identify effective interventions to combat these illnesses; and to identify emerging technologies and issues related to MSDs.
