The Enterprise Programming Group & Web Group recommend that you use Firefox as your default web browser. Firefox comes pre-installed on any computer that OIT sets up - you can find it in your Start menu.  If it asks you whether to make it your default browser, we recommend clicking yes!  There are many reasons we would like you to use Firefox, but here are just a few:

1. Safer browsing: Firefox allows you to privately browse the web.
2. Increased security: Security issues in Firefox are identified faster and fixed sooner than in Internet Explorer (source).
3. Speed: Firefox just keeps getting faster.
4. Personalization: View the plethora of add-ons Firefox has to offer.
5. Beauty: Firefox implements more of the CSS3 standards than Internet Explorer.  What does this mean for you?  Webpages just look better.
