The following will guide you, step by step, through configuring your HSC email in your Mac Mail client. This tutorial shows both Exchange and IMAP settings. Exchange settings are NOT supported on Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.

Step 1

Launch Mail from your Applications Folder. You will input your Name, HSC email address and password as seen below and click Continue.

Step 2

You may be prompted to Authenticate the server certificate. You will need to click Show Certificate.

Step 3

Check the box that says Always trust "www.tamhsc.edu" when connecting to "tamhsc.edu" and click Connect.

Step 4

You will be prompted for your local administrator username and password to allow this action. You can use any account that has administrative privileges on your computer. (Normally the account used to log on to the computer).

Step 5 - Selecting your Account type

Select Exchange or IMAP as the Account Type and follow the appropriate screenshots below, and then proceed to Step 6.

Exchange settings are NOT supported on Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. Please use IMAP settings.

Next, you will input the Outgoing Mail Server information as seen below and click Continue.

Step 7

You will now be asked to verify the SMTP server much like you did in step 2 for the TAMHSC server. Select Show Certificate.

Step 8

Check the box that says Always trust "www.tamhsc.edu" when connecting to "tamhsc.edu" and click Connect.

Step 9

You will then be prompted for your local administrative password one more time.

Step 10

You will receive the following Account Summary screen if you have successfully configured your HSC mail as an IMAP account. Select Create and you will be taken directly to your Inbox. Mail should begin updating.
