Auto-Archiving Mail in Entourage for Macintosh Users

System Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) or OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
  • Microsoft Office 2008

The following instructions will allow you to AutoArchive your HSC E-mail in Entourage. Once Entourage has been configured, your mail will AutoArchive everything older than 60 days.

Step 1

Download and open the zipped file. Save the AutoArchive vb1.scpt file to Home Directory > Microsoft User Data Folder > Entourage Script Menu Items directory.

Step 2

Open Entourage and select Tools>Schedules and then select New.

Name the new schedule "AutoArchive" and select Time Scheduled and Run AppleScript from the pull-down menus as seen below. To set how often you want your AutoArchive to run, select "Click here for timed schedule options". (Daily is suggested)

Click the Script button and browse for the AutoArchive vb1.scpt file you saved to the Entourage Script Menu Items folder in Step 1 and click Open.

Once the script has been selected, click OK and you will see your new AutoArchive set with the time you scheduled.

You can now close the window and as long as Entourage is running, your AutoArchive will run as scheduled.
