Library Resources
To access the library go to the main Campus library site:
http://msl.library.tamu.edu
The Texas A&M University library has made the decision to have users of resources authenticate via a web portal login. This is to streamline both local and remote access to library resources. This change will require you to login using your NetID and Password.
For Health Science Center faculty, staff and students, this may be a change in the way you use library resources. This method is the exact same method used to access Texas A&M University Library resources from home.
Please refer to the resources below to help with any aspect to retrieve library information.

Activating your NetID
You can activate your NetID at http://gateway.tamu.edu. Click the "Activate your NetID" link on the main page to start the activation process. You will need your Universal Identification Number (UIN) and birthdate to activate your account. Once you have entered your UIN and birthdate you will be prompted to create a NetID and password. This is a unique username that you will use to log in to all of your electronic resources. You will then create a password to use with your NetID. To reset your NetID you can also go to gateway.tamu.edu

Browsing Electronic Journals
Your NetID not only allows your access your Texas A&M E-mail account, but it also gives you access to eletronic journals through the http://msl.library.tamu.edu website. CHIRON is the Medical Sciences Library (MSL) on-line catalog to all electronic resources. This will be the best way to browse all that the MSL offers.

Accessing the Medical Sciences Library
The MSL http://msl.library.tamu.edu is a useful profiled tool that the library uses to track all of your library activity. Here you can setup and edit your "My Portal" profile. "My Portal" will keep track of all the resources you have checked out from the library and any over due fines you may have incurred. To login to the Library Portal click the "My Portal" link on the main page. You will be prompted to enter your NetID and password and then will be directed the "My Portal" page.

Accessing PubMed Journals
One of the most popular online catalogs for accessing medical journals is PubMed. PubMed is offered by the National Library of Medicine (NLM)http://www.nlm.nih.gov/ Please go to the MSL main page to access the PubMed Journals.

http://getitforme.library.tamu.edu/illiad/msllocal/Faculty, emeritus faculty, staff, currently enrolled students at the College Station campus (including Distance Education students), system agencies (TAES, TEES, TEEX, TAEX, Texas Forest Services), Texas Health Care Professionals, Health Science Center affiliates and visiting scholars are eligible to make requests through deliverEdocs system for any of the following three services:
- Interlibrary Loan: Request books and journal articles that are not owned by TAMU. Electronic delivery of articles is the default and is provided in most cases.
- Document Delivery: Request electronic delivery of article-length copies from journals, books, microforms, and other texts owned by TAMU libraries.
- Campus Book Courier: Request books to be retrieved from the TAMU libraries' stacks and hold them at your home library's circulation desk for you to pick up.
deliverEdocs works best with Microsoft Internet Explorer.
