CSHEMA award The Office of Environmental Health & Safety received the Campus Safety Health and Environmental Management Association’s (CSHEMA) Solutions at Work Award in 2014 for the development and implementation of its mobile safety and security app, HSC eduSafe. The purpose of this award is to promote interest in developing programs that solve or improve specific safety problems at colleges and universities, and to encourage institutions to share ideas or projects that work for them. This award was presented to TAMHSC EHS based on the reason for implementation; cost of implementation; method of implementation; scope of program; and applicability to other institutions.
Model of Efficiency 2014 plaque The office of Environmental Health and Safety received the Models of Efficiency Award from University Business Magazine in 2014 for improvements in the development of its risk-based inspection schedule and report (RBISAR) generating software. RBISAR processes the data collected during a safety inspection, automates risk assessment and produces a risk-based safety inspection schedule. In addition, time to generate an inspection report was decreased 78%.
Model of Efficiency 2013 plaque The office of Environmental Health and Safety received the Models of Efficiency Award from University Business Magazine in 2013 for the development and implementation of a mobile safety and security app for smartphone and tablet devices. The app, HSC eduSafe, provides efficient access to pertinent safety, security, and emergency preparedness information. In addition the app enables faculty, staff, students, and visitors to report hazards on campus, manage their parking permits, navigate maps to buildings and parking areas, and view Clery Act reports for each of the TAMHSC campuses. Users can even request a Security escort with a single touch of a button.
Model of Efficiency 2012 plaque The office of Environmental Health and Safety received the Models of Efficiency Award from University Business Magazine in 2012 for its innovated mobile safety inspection process. Utilizing intuitive form building software to create electronic safety inspection forms, EHS now conducts all safety inspections using mobile devices which has greatly reduced the amount of time needed to conduct inspections and generate reports
