Residency Classification for Tuition Purposes
Each student is responsible for registering and paying tuition according to the proper residency classification. The laws, rules and regulations governing residency status are located at http://www.collegeforalltexans.com/index.cfm?ObjectID=6D1466D9-AEA5-DE00-C12F3F75E7367718.
Each new student must complete the residency questions located at http://www.collegeforalltexans.com/index.cfm?ObjectID=6D1466D9-AEA5-DE00-C12F3F75E7367718.
As long as a student does not "stop out" more than one long semester, the student does not have to complete the Core Questions each semester.
Each student is classified as a resident or nonresident for tuition purposes by the Office of the Registrar based on the Residency Core Questions. Students in the College of Medicine are initially classified by the TMDSAS.
A student who believes the initial classification to be in error, or who believes that residency for tuition purposes has been established subsequent to the initial classification, may request a review by submitting the Residency Questionnaire to the Office of the Registrar. The decision of the Registrar is final and is communicated to the student in writing as soon as possible following a decision.
In accordance with TEC the Texas A&M Health Science Center imparts no penalty for student reservists called to active duty during the semester. The student has complete preservation of his/her position in the class and tuition and fees paid for the semester.
