Race and Ethnicity in Admissions

As authorized by the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents race and ethnicity have been added to the pool of non-cognitive factors considered for admissions decisions to HSC academic programs. As state law requires one year notification of changes to admissions criteria prior to their use in admissions decisions, the addition will be effective June 7, 2005. More information is available in our case statement for the change as well as our diversity statement.
