Whether you want to practice medicine or dentistry, explore the latest frontiers in biological sciences as a researcher, or serve your fellow citizens as a public health professional, the Texas A&M Health Science Center has a program for you.

With locations stretching across the state of Texas -- from the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, to the tradition-rich home of Texas A&M University in College Station, from one of the largest health care and research centers in the world in Houston to the Texas Coastal Bend and Rio Grande Valley -- the Health Science Center provides the highest quality educational programs for the next generation of health professionals.

In these pages you will get a first look at the degree programs and careers that the educational components of the Health Science Center -- Baylor College of Dentistry, the College of Medicine, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, the Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy, the School of Rural Public Health, and the most recent addition to the HSC, the College of Nursing -- have to offer.

In addition to its four educational components, the Health Science Center includes an outstanding research facility, the Institute of Biosciences and Technology in Houston, and operates two innovative centers, the Coastal Bend Health Education Center in Corpus Christi and the South Texas Center in McAllen and the Rio Grande Valley.

The Health Science Center is a participant in the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's Closing the Gaps program, aimed at increasing higher education enrollment in Texas.

The Health Science Center is here for you. Contact our admissions offices to take your first step in preparing for a challenging, fulfilling career in the health sciences!

Race and Ethnicity in Admissions

As authorized by the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents race and ethnicity have been added to the pool of non-cognitive factors considered for admissions decisions to HSC academic programs. As state law requires one year notification of changes to admissions criteria prior to their use in admissions decisions, the addition will be effective June 7, 2005. More information is available in our case statement for the change as well as our diversity statement.
