Technology Commercialization Advisory Committee
The Technology Commercialization Advisory Committee (TCAC) is appointed by the Vice President for Research (VPR) to represent the interests of all the components in the development of intellectual properties and technology commercialization within the HSC.
The TCAC makes recommendations concerning policies and procedures for the management of intellectual properties and technology commercialization through the VPR to the President of the HSC.
The TCAC is comprised of two representatives or professional staff from each component in the HSC who are nominated on an annual basis for a two-year term by the Dean/Director to the VPR.
The TCAC provides advise and oversight for all matters related to the management of intellectual properties and commercialization for the HSC. The TCAC is charged in the area of intellectual property and technology commercialization to provide the following:
- Serve as a proponent for research and other scholarly activities that will result in development of intellectual property and technology commercialization at the HSC.
- Recommend HSC rules, internal policies, and procedures pertaining to intellectual property to the VPR.
- Provide oversight and advise to the VPR for the area of financial conflict of interest and conflict of commitment.
