Numerous researchers across the HSC use animals as an integral part of their research. "Use of animals" involves any circumstance in which the "typical lifestyle and movements"* of vertebrate animals are altered from that which is generally experienced in nature. Any research or teaching that is performed with vertebrate animals is subject to numerous regulations and review processes to ensure the health and safety of all involved.
For additional information regarding the use of animals in research, please visit the Texas A&M University "Animals in Research and Teaching" webpage.
