Strategic Effectiveness Council
The Texas A&M Health Science Center (TAMHSC) Strategic Effectiveness Council (SEC) was established by the TAMHSC Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs in Fall 2010 for the purpose of providing an opportunity for the standardization of strategic planning efforts across the TAMHSC. In addition to creating a common planning and assessment cycle, the committee serves as a forum for members to discuss best practices for assessment, generate ideas for improvement, and communicate with colleagues from across the TAMHSC.
The SEC brings together representatives from each college and VP office in order to discuss the strategic plans for each component or office within the TAMHSC. Representatives are chosen based on their knowledge of the strategic planning initiatives and their ability to facilitate tracking within the TAMHSC planning software, TracDat. Additionally, the chair of the SEC serves as the assessment liaison for the TAMU Assessment Liaison Committee.
The SEC goals for the 2013-14 year include:
- Revision of the TAMHSC assessment and planning cycle
- Creation of a strategic initiatives "dashboard" to allow for continual formative monitoring of progress
- Compilation of results for assessing effectiveness across the TAMHSC
- Development of an action plan manual
