Cullen M. "Mike" Godfrey, J.D., is Chief Legal Officer for the Texas A&M Health Science Center.

As the lead legal person, Dr. Godfrey's primary responsibilities include legal assistance with various TAMHSC projects, such as class expansion of the College of Medicine and a new campus for Bryan-College Station programs. He will continue to work in conjunction with the Office of General Counsel as appropriate for issues for the A&M System Board of Regents.

Dr. Godfrey joined the Office of General Counsel for the A&M System in July 2006. He holds undergraduate and law degrees from The University of Texas at Austin and was licensed to practice in 1969.

Dr. Godfrey is a director and former chairman of the Texas Business Law Foundation, and he is also the former chairman of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of Texas and the General Committee on Law of the American Petroleum Institute. A gubernatorial appointee to the National Conference of Commissioners of Uniform State Laws, he is a member of the American Law Institute and been certified as a specialist in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is also a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas.

Among Dr. Godfrey's civic activities are his service as General Campaign Chairman of the United Way of Greater Dallas and Chairman of the Greater Dallas Crime Commission.
